Rehearsing Đêm Hè Sau Cuối

The musical Đêm Hè Sau Cuối (midsummer night's murder) will be performed in Hanoi from August 12-15, as the last shows of the 2013 Musical Double Feature project by Phi Phi Anh Nguyen and his crew this summer.

The organizers say the who-dun-it will be performed with no props so that the audience can concentrate on the details of the case and the content of the play.

The narrator will be Nguyen Huong Thao (the "mermaid"), who finished in the top two of Vietnam's Got Talent 2012 and is taking a break from her scientific career in the USA so that she can do the musical.

Other members of the cast will include veterans from last month's play L'Avenue 2013 such as Vu Do Quang Minh (Rudolph), Bui Minh Quan (Flint), Nguyen Viet Nga (Roxanne), Bui Hoang Phuong (Rudolph's voice) and Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (the little bird).

The Musical Double Feature is a non-profit project produced by Phi Phi Anh Nguyen and his team of local and overseas Vietnamese students.

The performances will take place at the French Institute, 24 Tràng Tiền Street, Hanoi at 7:45 p.m. on August 12, 13, 14 and 15, and at 3:30 p.m. on August 15.
