Three Vietnamese soprano, alto and baritone will join a British tenor in a concert called Beethoven Vol.9, being performed on December 7 and 8 at Hanoi's Opera House.
Ha Pham Thang Long, Le Thi Vanh Khuyen, Vu Manh Dung and Adrian Ward will be accompanied by a chorus whose members include the Choir of Vietnam National Opera Ballet, Hanoi Freud Choir, Hanoi International Choir and Choir of National University of Art Education.
The concert, co-organized by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) and Australian Embassy in Vietnam, will be under the direction of noted British conductor Graham Sutcliffe and conducted by famous Japanese Honna Tetsuji.
The concert will feature the Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, which was composed in 1824 and is the final complete symphony of music genius Ludwig van Beethoven.
The lyrics for the legendary symphony will be extracted from noted author Friedrich Schiller's poem "˜Ode to Joy," written in 1785.
The ode is best known for its musical setting in D major by Beethoven.
The choral symphony will be performed by the four artists' solo voices and choir.
