Light show to illuminate HCMC's Reunification Palace

A light performance conducted by the Spectaculaires group at the Notre Dame de Paris

A French llight and music performance will dazzle Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City's District 1 December 13 and 14, Sai Gon Tiep Thi newspaper reported.

During the show, image artists from the Spectaculaires group will turn the front of the palace into a big screen to showcase the history of Vietnam from its founding to the present day.

The show will include traditional Vietnamese images such as Lac Long Quan and Au Co, the legendary ancestors of Vietnamese people, bamboo trees, paddy fields, and lotus flowers.

The music will be presented by Vietnamese singer Le Cat Trong Ly and French artist izOrel.

Philippe Bouler, the French art director in charge of the event said the light and music performances will be unlike other shows in Vietnam.

Founded in 1987, Spectaculaires group has become renowned for its creative lighting shows. This is the first time the team will have a light performance in Asia.

The free-entrance event will start at 7:00 p.m. on both nights and last until 10:30 p.m. with seven 15-minute screenings. It is part of activities to conclude French Year in Vietnam.
