A lacquer painting exhibition featuring works by 51 artists has opened in Ho Chi Minh City.

Saigon Lacquer 2010 shows works of renowned painters like Hoang Tram, Nguyen Van Kinh, Ho Huu Thu, and Dao Minh Tri.

Organizers said they had to persuade some painting collectors who own outstanding lacquer paintings like Dem song Hong (Red River at night) by Van Tam and Ky uc nhung ho bom (Memory of bomb craters) by Nguyen Van Kinh to put them on show as very few people have seen them.

The exhibition, which will close on February 21, is at 5 Phan Dang Luu Street, Binh Thanh District.
