K-pop quartet to perform in Vietnam

The South Korean girl band 2NE1 will perform in Hanoi on Nov 19 in a concert to celebrate the two countries' bilateral ties.

According to organizers, Silkroad C and Korean Cultural Center, 2NE1 will perform several of their hits including Fire, I don't care, In the club, Go away, Hate you and Ugly.

Vietnamese singers Phuong Vy and Thanh Duy will also perform at the concert, which will be held in the National Convention Center and broadcast on the VTV3 channel.

2NE1 is a popular South Korean hip-hop/pop girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009 with CL, Dara, Bom and Minzy. The group's name stands for "New Evolution of the 21st Century."

They first appeared in "Lollipop", a commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Electronics, and their debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009. Since then, the group has released two extended plays and one studio album.

2NE1 was crowned "Best New Band in the World" at the MTV's Iggy in 2011.

Recently, the band's performance attracted more than 70,000 fans to the Dome Tokyo Stadium in Japan.
