Modern art and traditional paintings from South Korea will be on display in Hanoi later this month as the Korean Culture Center begins celebrating the capital city's 1,000th anniversary.

The Korea Art Festival, co-organized by the center and Korean magazine ART, will present pieces by Park Mi Yong, chairman of Gangnam Fine Arts Association and traditional paintings that feature Korean nature, daily life as well as the country's sense of sarcasm, the center said in a press release Thursday.

The four-day festival opens at 3p.m. February 23 at 49 Nguyen Du Street.
