The central province of Khanh Hoa will host the upcoming Asia's largest musical event for amateurs, newswire VOVNews reported Thursday.
Interkultur, which organizes the annual World Choir Games, chose Khanh Hoa after having inspected accommodation and entertainment places around Nha Trang.
The third Asian Choir Games 2011, that will be held from August 28 to September 4 next year, is expected to bring 5,000-8,000 contestants from forty countries to Khanh Hoa.
Asian Choir Games is open to young amateurs in different kinds of music including pop, jazz, traditional music and hymns.
The event is organized every two years. The first one was held in Jakarta, Indonesia and the second in Gyeongnam, South Korea.
Indonesia grabbed most medals in the first edition of the contest, while Filipinos and South Koreans joined the list of winners in the second.
Interkultur will also organize the first Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition in Hoi An in March next year, the German organization said on its website.
