Japanese symphony orchestra to perform in Hanoi

The Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra will perform with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra this Sunday and next Tuesday in Hanoi.

Under the baton of Honna Tetsuji, local and foreign artists will perform works by P.I Tchaikovsky, Toyama Yuzo, J. Brahms and Do Hong Quan at the Hanoi Opera House.

Founded in 1965 the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra was first part of the Tokyo government's cultural promotion project to mark the Tokyo Olympic Games.

It has since become one of Japan's foremost professional orchestras with the participation of many Japanese and international talents.

The orchestra has performed in many countries including Russia, England, France and China.

Ticket prices: VND150,000-700,000 (US$7.69-35.90).
