The 56th International Typographic Exhibition of the New York Type Directors Club (TDC) will be held at the Hanoi-based Goethe Institute this weekend.

The exhibition will include 242 works from 20 countries awarded by TDC's annual competitions in graphic design, publishing, type, and the written word.

After the exhibition, a pair of documentaries about type, "Helvetica" and "The Art of Hermann Zapf A Video of Him Working!" will be screened on March 19 and 21 respectively at the institute on 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street.

During the "Type Talk" discussion on March 20, designers from FPT Arena (a Hanoi-based design firm) will present and discuss their typographic work.

Richard Moore Associates Hanoi, in cooperation with FPT Arena and Goethe-Institute, have billed the event as ideal for all professionals and students in the graphic design field and those who have a keen interest in type and the written word.

Founded in 1946, TDC is a leading international organization whose purpose is to support excellence in typography, both in print and on screen.
