Nine sculptors from three continents are presenting their cooperative artwork in an exhibition, entitled "The house," that opened at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on Thursday.
Accordingly, the event features nine cubes created by six Vietnamese artists: Le Thi Hien, Mai Thu Van, Le Lang Luong, Khong Do Tuyen, Tran Trong Tri and Nguyen Ngoc Lam.
Belgian sculptors Paty Sonville and Talbaui Fatima also contributed work to the show, as did US sculptor Bart Uchida.
The artists were invited to interpret the theme "the house."
All of the sculptures were produced during a three-month residency program funded by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and Wallonie-Bruxelles International.
The three foreign artists have studied traditional techniques of lacquer and bamboo, then combined these materials into contemporary sculptures.
The show will run until March 31 at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street.
