International Art Competition to be launched in Vietnam

The first-ever International Art Competition in Vietnam, will be held from July to November according to a press conference held in HCMC on Thursday.  

Organizers from the Ministry of Education and the Malaysia-based Global Art Group said that the contest My World-My Future, welcomes foreign and local artists between the ages of 4 and 18.

International contestants from 20 countries where Global Art has centers have been invited to participate in the qualifying rounds held in their countries.

Open drawing competitions will be held at cultural centers in Hanoi, HCMC, Can Tho City, and Da Nang City from August 15 to October 15.

The semi-finalists from the early rounds will be divided into four age groups and enter in the final round at HCMC's Phu Tho Sports Center on November 26.

All finalists will receive gifts and have city tour for participating. The winner will be awarded VND20 million (US$960) and a trip to Global Art in Malaysia.

The annual event was first held in 2004 in Malaysia, and since then it has been held by Global Art member countries, including Singapore, Thailand, China, America, Canada, and Russia.

So far, Global Art Group has opened five centers in Ho Chi Minh City.
