Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Khanh, Miss Vietnam in Europe 2010
Meanwhile, Vietnamese German women scored a rare double at this year's "Miss Vietnam in Europe" contest, winning the crown and second runner up prize.
Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Khanh, a 1.75 meter tall beauty with a 82-64-91 figure, took the crown after a four-hour final last Saturday. The first runner-up was Nguyen Mai Anh of the Czech Republic's Miss Vietnam and Germany's Nguyen Phuong Loan was the second runner-up.
This year's pageant was organized by the Common House Association in Germany as the first event to set off the "Vietnam Year in Germany" which marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
According to the organizers, the beauty contest, held in Munich, strengthened links between the Vietnamese diaspora and introduced the beauty of Vietnamese people and culture to the world.
The contest will be followed by a homecoming trip for the winners that is organized by the Tien Phong newspaper. The winners will participate in many charitable activities during the trip.
