Over 1,000 singers from Southeast Asian countries will attend an international choir competition in the central town of Hoi An this March, Vietnamnet reports.
According to the competition's management board, the number of singers would increase from now until early March. So far 34 choirs have registered for the competition, including four from Vietnam.
The event will take place from March 16-20.
The first Vietnam International Choir Festival & Competition will also feature an opening performance with German conductor Graham Sutcliffe on the floating stage of the Hoai River Square.
The competition will take place at the meeting hall of the Hoi An Beach Resort, it said.
The competition is organized by Quang Nam Province and the Germany-based InterKultur organization.
