Ho Chi Minh City to get traditional arts theater

The Conical Hat Theater will open in Ho Chi Minh City's Labour and Culture Palace in mid-February, offering daily performances of traditional arts, the Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper reported.

There will be 45-minute shows every night of traditional Vietnamese drums and gong and other percussion instruments, lion dancing, cheo, royal music performances, and others.

An atmosphere of traditional music will permeate the theater, and audiences will have the opportunity to learn to play musical instruments.

Besides promoting traditional Vietnamese culture, the new theater, at 55 B Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, will also offer traditional foods to audiences.
