Two shows highlighting work from female artists opened this week in Ho Chi Minh City in celebration of International Women's Day.
On March 2, a collection of oil paintings went up at Phuong Mai gallery, on 129B Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1.
The show, entitled Niem vui thang ba (The joy of March), includes work from seven female painters and will continue through March 9.
Meanwhile, an exhibition of artwork from prominent female artists will go on display at the HCMC Exhibition House, 92 Le Thanh Ton St., Dist. 1 from March 4-13.
Sac mau Ha Noi Sai Gon (The colors of Hanoi Saigon) showcases 100 works by ten members of the Hanoi and HCMC Fine Art Association.
The works (presented in oils, acrylics, lacquer and pottery) depict social life, beautiful landscapes and people from various regions of the country.
The painters have planned to take part in a four-day creative trip through the Mekong Delta.
