Hennessy opera concert returns to Hanoi

The 15th annual Hennessy concert will be held at 8 p.m. the Hanoi Opera House on April 22 and feature classic world-renown opera selections performed by artists from France, Mexico and China.

The concert will include performances by French Soprano Noral Ansellem, Mexican Tenor Fernado de la Mora, Chinese Bass Hao Jiang Tian and pianist Katherine Chu. The artists have attracted international acclaim by performing leading roles in top theaters including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the San Francisco Opera House, the Vienna State Opera and the Opéra Bastille of Paris.

Chu now serves as Musical Assistant to famed Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa. She also acts as Chorus Master for the Seiji Ozawa Ongaku-Juku Academy in Japan.

The artists will perform extracts from world-famous Rossini Gioacchino's "The Barber of Seville", Jules Massenet's "Manon", Georges Bizet's "Les pêcheurs de perles", Giuseppe Verdi's "Macbeth" and Charles Gounod's "Faust".

This year's show was organized by The Performing Arts Agency of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Moet Hennessy.
