International festival Future Shorts will screen award-winning short films in Ho Chi Minh City this month.
In the screening list are "God of Love," a whimsical tale of romance and darts which won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short this year, and Sundance winner "Deeper Than Yesterday," filmed with 35mm cameras and showing a Russian submarine crew with a virulent form of cabin fever after remaining underwater for three months.
Others include "Incidence By A Bank" from Sweden, a detailed and humorous account of a real-life bank robbery, and local entry "Limbo" by Huy Le Khac.
The films will be screened at 7 pm on December 11 at Lit Café, 8 Le Quy Don, and at 8 pm on December 14 at Snap Café, 32 Tran Ngoc Dien, District 2.
Tickets cost VND60,000 and half that for children with ID cards. Filmmakers who bring a copy of their work get free admission.
Future Shorts is a global festival focused on short films that takes place in more than 50 cities in 17 countries and has an audience of half a million people.
