Ho Chi Minh City will host its first-ever Book Festival from January 31 to February 3 to celebrate the New Year of the Cat, according to the city's Department of Information and Communications.
Visitors will have the opportunity to peruse a wide range of books along Mac Thi Buoi Street, not far from the city's famed Nguyen Hue "flower street" in District 1.
Exhibitions featuring new and bestselling books, calligraphy demonstration, and Q&A session with the authors will also be organized as well as a special display dedicated to children's books.
The organizers include local publishing houses, book distribution companies and private bookstores.
Festival-goers will have a chance to buy antique, valuable and rare books.
