More than 160 local and 26 foreign publishers will participate in Ho Chi Minh City’s eighth annual book festival at Le Van Tam Park in District 1 March 24 to 30.
This year’s event will feature 500 books and news stalls.
As usual, the fair will also feature book signings, exchanges and talk shows involving famous authors, poets, translators, and artists, as well as games and contests.
This year there will be an event to honor Don ca tai tu (southern folk music) on March 25, and interactions with veterans of the Battle of Dien Bien Phu and former intelligence agents a day later. Meetings with artists and authors who have created artworks about the Spratly and Paracel Archipelagos will take place March 29.
The Vietnam War film “Dung Dot” (Don’t Burn it), based on the famous war diary of female medic Dang Thuy Tram, which was read by millions and published in 15 countries, will be screened on March 26.
