An exhibition of art and video installations by recent graduates and current students of fine arts universities in Vietnam will be shown at Hanoi Rock City from July 8-12.
According to a press release from the organizer E.A.T, "THIK thì NHIK" (We like so we do) is a continuation of the E.A.T's first exhibition named "Students Make Art" in January at the Viet Art Center.
Project E.A.T (Exercitation.Art.Term) is a non-profit art education program founded by Vietnam Fine Arts University Professor Pham Dieu Huong with the help of assistants Pham Ngoc Ha Ninh and Vi Tuong Vi.
E.A.T was created for the purpose of selecting and supporting art students develop a deeper understanding of contemporary art.
The nine artists to be featured are Bui Minh Ha, Vu Thi Hang, Do Tuong Linh, Pham Ngoc Ha Ninh, Tran Hoang Ngan, Nguyen Hong Ngoc, Tran Van Phong, Pham Hoang Tuan and Vi Tuong Vi.
Their contemporary artworks deal with different subjects, but all embody the philosophy that students will produce their best art when it is created out of a pure enjoyment for the process.
Members of the project were given lessons on art theory and methods of collaborative art with team activities aimed at developing the concepts and practice of chosen subjects.
The group exhibition is the project's end result of the learning and sharing process. The even will culminate with an art talk on July 12 which will also be held at Hanoi Rock City, located at 27/52 To Ngoc Van Street, Tay Ho District, Hanoi.
