Hanoi to host Spring Gala Concert and Ballet

A Spring Gala Concert and Ballet featuring conductor Graham Sutcliffe and artists from the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet will take place at 8 p.m. at Hanoi Opera House on February 23.

According to a press release from the opera house, duo sopranos Thang Long and Vanh Khuyen, tenor Nguyen Vu, violinist Thanh Ha, and local dancers will present famous classical works by Chopin, Mozart, Delibes, and Tchaikovsky.

The classic pieces include Delibes' Suos la Dome epais, Nutcracker and Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Verdi's Va Pensiero from Nabucco, and "Salut demeure chaste et pure" by Gound.

VNOB dancers will feature the work of famous choreographers of 19th century, including Marius Petipa, Lev Ivanov, Julius Reisinger, Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot, and Michel Fokine.
