An exciting German film week to celebrate the new year 2012 will be held at the Goethe Institute in Hanoi on January 6-11.
According to a press release from the Institute, the film week offers a program of a large range of seven new films with unusual topics by famous filmmakers and young directors.
The films include: "Soul Kitchen," "Gravity," "Sascha," "The Cloud," a series of short films, "Whisky with Vodka," and "The Hairdresser."
"Soul Kitchen", the most recent film by director Fatih Akin, is the opening film this week. It will be followed by the teen film "Sascha," which broaches the issue of a 19-year-old boy's coming-out.
"Gravity" is a socio-critical comedy, which brings up an up-to-date topic of the financial crisis, whereas, in 70 minutes, the short films on the evening of January 9 will present a varied selection of severity to comedy, taking the viewer into an ebb and flow of feelings.
