A concert entitled "The Miracle of Japanese Sounds" will see innovative traditional musicians from Japan collaborating with artists from Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on February 14.
According to a press release from the Embassy of Japan in Hanoi Friday, the AUN J-Classic Orchestra's three drum artists and three string artists will perform compositions on Japan's traditional stringed, wind and percussion instruments.
They are "Chappa Solo", "Soul's Ville", "To the South", "Be Blue", "Monochrome", "1969", "Aun Shamisen", and "Ground Zero".
"The instruments share a history of more than one thousand years, during which their uniquely beautiful sounds have evolved," said the release. "Mixing the traditions of old with the sounds of today, this exciting group of artists has spawned a truly original fusion."
AUN is a group of young musicians innovating on the traditional Japanese music scene, according to the release.
Tickets for the concert, to be held at Youth the Theater, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street, Hanoi, at 8pm, are available for pick up at the Japanese Embassy.
