Reporters from 40 countries have finished a weeklong press junket that was organized to generate buzz for Hanoi's 1,000th anniversary to be celebrated from October 1 to 10.

It was the first time the city had played host to so many international reporters, local news website VnExpress quoted the Hanoi Department of Foreign Affairs as saying.

During the program, the reporters took part in a variety of activities, including a visit to Hanoi's Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), a stop at the Thang Long Royal Citadel, and sojourns to famous handicraft centers like the ancient silk weaving village of Van Phuc.

The reporters also met with local leading businesses, the news source said.
