Hanoi hosts first-ever int'l children's theater festival

The first-ever international children's theater festival began on Friday in Hanoi with 140 participants, including 40 from foreign countries.

The 15-day event will showcase four plays from Laos, Japan and Sweden and another by Vietnamese artists, featuring puppets among other forms of theater.

Artist Le Hung, director of Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theater, said although not many organizations attended, the event was the first step for Vietnam and that more festivals for children would happen in the future.

The International Children Theater Festival 2010 was held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with Vietnam Stage Artists Association.
