Hanoi gets set to celebrate India's Festival of Lights

One of the biggest Indian festivals, Diwali, or the Festival of Lights, will be celebrated by the Indian community on Oct 29 at Hanoi's Van Ho Exhibition Center.

 

Organized by the Hanoi chapter of the Indian Business Chamber, the Indian Embassy and the Indian expat community, this year's cultural extravaganza will feature a "Bollywood night" - Indian dances and music, fashion shows, games and lucky draws.

 

A highlight of the evening will be a concert by Peenaz Masani, an accomplished group with a uniquely lilting voices.

 

There will also be theme stalls, handicraft sales and a smattering of Indian gourmet delicacies and drinks.

 

Over the years, the celebration of Diwali has become a permanent and popular fixture in the capital's cultural calendar.

 

Last year, more than 1200 guests, attended the festivities.

 

Tickets, priced from VND99,000-149,000, are available at Incham Office, 1st Floor, Heritage Hotel, 625 De La Thanh Street from Oct 15.

 

Van Ho Exhibition Center is located on 2 Van Ho Street, Hai Ba Trung Dist, Hanoi.
