The 4th Europe-Vietnam Documentary Film Festival will take place in Hanoi and Da Nang in June, according to a press release from the Goethe Institute.
The event is being organized jointly by the Central Studio for Documentary and Scientific Films, 10 cultural agencies and embassies of the European Union in Vietnam, and the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC).
The annual festival will screen ten films produced by filmmakers from Vietnam and European countries including Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria and Poland.
Among the prominent films are Dans tes yeux (France), Maria and I (Spain), Louisa (Germany), and Mechanical Love (Denmark).
The organizers have also invited young Vietnamese filmmakers to submit their documentary films for a chance to win prizes. The submission deadline is May 4. The prize winners will be announced on May 15.
It is the first time that the event is screening documentary films made by young Vietnamese filmmakers.
