Hanoi artist exhibits lacquer collection

An exhibition of lacquer paintings by NAME (Now Art Moves East) Art Space's Tran Dan themed "Women and Flowers" is being held in Hanoi through June 10.

According to a press release from Name Art Space, Tran Dan's skills also include oil painting, video, performance, installation, and photography but painting with lacquer is his primary passion.

He was the founder and art director of Dan Viet Art Studio, an open space for Vietnamese and foreign artists.

Tran Dan's art combines contemporary and traditional methods. He sells his art work in Vietnam and overseas through international galleries and art organizations.

The artist is also involved in securing support for artists and organizing events from the Culture Development Fund and various NGOs.

Name Art Space is an artist-led space for creating and exhibiting art, as well as a residence for international artists.

The "Women and Flowers" exhibition opened on May 19 at 87 Ma May Street, Hanoi.
