German jazz band to perform in Vietnam

A jazz concert by young jazz quartet Max.Bab from Germany will hit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City September 17 and 18, respectively.

According to a press release by organizer Goethe Institute Vietnam, the internationally acclaimed jazz band meets the highest musical standards and offers professionals and amateurs alike a virtuoso sound experience.

The four musicians from Munich saxophonist Max Von Mosch, pianist Benedikt Jahnel, bassist Henning Sieverts and drummer Andreas Haberl have been called the new hope for German jazz by the media.

Max.Bab has released six albums and won several national and international jazz competitions. They have performed abroad frequently and worked with international stars, including Charlie Mariano, Wolfgang Muthspiel, David Friedman and Frank Möbus.

Max.Bab's shows in Vietnam will take place at the Goethe Institute Hanoi and the HCMC Conservatory of Music at 8p.m.

Admission is free in Hanoi, whereas in HCMC tickets are available at the Goethe Institute, 18, Street 1, Do Thanh Housing Compound, District 3.
