A German film festival is being held at different locations in Vietnam from September 16 to October 17, according to the Goethe Institute in Hanoi.
Ten new films by both famous directors and new successful young filmmakers from Germany that have captured audience interest and won prizes at international film festivals will be shown in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City.
The films include: Yasemin and Nescrin Samdereli's Almanya Welcome to Germany; director Sönke Wortmann's Pope Joan, the Crocodiles 2 and Close to you; Goethe! by Philipp Stölzl; Groupies don't stay for breakfast, Autumn gold and November Child by Christan Schwochow; Run if you can and two documentary films Neukölln and Unlimited.
The films explore questions of about home and identity, deal with extraordinary love and passion, as well as friendship and responsibility.
In Hanoi, free tickets have been given out from Sep 9 at the Hanoi Goethe Institut, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc, tel: 04-37342251/52/53 (ext: 9).
