The German Embassy in Hanoi opened its outer wall to street artists to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The "StreetArtGallery Hanoi" project went up on the walls of the embassy on Tran Phu Street in Ba Dinh District.
Eighteen Vietnamese and foreign artists were invited to create work on the theme of traversing boundaries and tearing down walls in our minds and everyday lives.
The exhibition will remain up until the end of 2014.
The project was inspired by the East Side Gallery – a 1.3km long section of the Berlin Wall located near the center of Berlin on Mühlenstraße in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, the embassy said in a release.
The Gallery consists of 105 paintings by artists from all over the world, painted in 1990 on the east side of the Berlin Wall.
