French artist to play jazz piano in Hanoi

The French Embassy in Vietnam will hold a jazz piano recital by world famous Yvan Robilliard on May 20 in Hanoi.

The 32-year-old pianist and composer's performance will be held at L'Espace, the French cultural center.

Robilliard was just 15 when he won the first prize at a competition held by the National Regional Conservatory of Lyon. Four years later he won another competition at the Paris Conservatory.

Since then he has won several other national and international contests including the National Jazz Competition at La Defense in 2005 where he won the first prizes for both recital and composition, according to a press release.

Robilliard has published two albums, including a solo.

Tickets at VND100,000 (US$5.26) can be bought at 24 Trang Tien Street.
