Ho Chi Minh City has announced a major fireworks display on the New Year's Eve with four tons of fireworks to be imported from France and China.
The performance will last for 15 minutes from midnight with fireworks being launched from the Bitexco Financial Tower, the city’s highest 68-story building located in District 1.
This will be the first time fireworks being launched from the tower during special events instead of previous ground locations around the city.
The city authorities are conducting procedures for the import of 243 fireworks cartons, including 72 from France and 171 from China.
The fireworks are sponsored by the Bitexco Financial Tower Company.
The performance, themed “Ho Chi Minh City’s 40 Springs”, will be part of many events to celebrate 40th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam.
