For the first time, artists from the Opera Australia company will perform "La bohème," one of opera’s most popular stories, at the Hanoi Opera House on April 10.
The four-act opera, composed by Italia's Giacomo Puccini between 1893 and 1895, is directed by Australian stage director Matthew Barclay and English conductor Jonathan Webb.
"La bohème" is a story of first love. When Rodolfo, a penniless poet, meets Mimì, a seamstress, they fall passionately in love. But their happiness is threatened when Rodolfo learns that Mimì is gravely ill.
