European-Vietnamese documentary film fest opens in Hanoi

The Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation to Vietnam will present four Belgium documentary films to Vietnamese audiences at the 5th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival.

"Un été avec Anton" (Summer with Anton), "Le Thé ou L'electricité" (Tea or Electricity), "Bons baisers de la Colonie" (Greetings from the colony) and "Bruxelles Kigali" will be screened for free at the Vietnam Central Scientific and Documentary Film Studio, located at 465 Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Hanoi.

"Summer with Anton" will be screened at 7:30 p.m. on June 5.

"Tea or Electricity" will be shown at 4:00 p.m. and "Greetings from the colony" at 5:30 p.m. on June 8. "Bruxelles Kigali" is shown at 7:00 p.m. on June 12.

The Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation will collaborate with the Vietnam Central Scientific and Documentary Film Studio to open a training course on documentary films for Vietnamese filmmakers and cinematography students to be instructed by Belgian director Jasna Krajinovic.

Co-organized by the Vietnam Central Scientific and the Documentary Film Studio, the European Union National Institutes For Culture and the Goethe Institute Vietnam, the 5th International Documentary Film Festival will take place in Hanoi between June 5 and 14 and in Ho Chi Minh City from June 10 to 29.

Every night during the festival, audiences will be treated to one European and one Vietnamese documentary. In addition to the highlighted Belgian film, the festival will also feature movies from Germany, France, England, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
