Renowned jazz saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan and his band, “Saigon Big Band,” will perform outside the iconic Bitexco Financial Tower of Ho Chi Minh City on Friday.
The show, named “Love and Jazz,” will be performed under “street music” with a desire to bring this style closer to locals, organizers say.
Tran Manh Tuan says he hopes to popularize the “street music” style to public through the show.
In the concert, audiences will listen again the well-known saxophone sound performed by Tran Manh Tuan in “Careless Whisper”, “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You”, and “Hello.”
Tuan and the Saigon Big Band will also perform “They Can’t Take That Away from Me”, “All of Me”, “Moondance”, “Fever” and other immortal songs.
Guests who will join the show include jazz singers Tuyet Loan, Minh Tuan, Jackie Nijne, Jenny Xuan, and young saxophonist An Tran -- the daughter of Tran Manh Tuan.
Manh Tuan said he hopes to popularize the “street music” style to public through the show.
The concert will take place at 5 pm until 7 pm on February 13 outside the Bitexco Financial Tower, which is located at the corner of Ho Tung Mau and Hai Trieu streets.
Bitexco Group, the show’s sponsor, said the show, without entrance fees, is dedicated to young couples on occasion of Valentine’s Day.
