Dutch artist to wow HCMC with floral show

Florist Len Alkemade will perform at a floral show in Ho Chi Minh City this Sunday, November 24

Florist Len Alkemade of Holland will present his best artworks at the international flower design show in Ho Chi Minh City this Sunday.

The Dutch artist, with over 30 years' experience in floral design, will perform 15 arrangements in three main categories: wedding flowers; decoration for festive time and the New Year; and European style in Asian colors.

The event is being organized by Dalat Hasfarm and the Consulate General of the Netherlands at the Grand Palace Convention Center in the city.

Thousands of fresh flowers and imported flowers from Holland and Ecuador will be used for the show, whose participants will receive attractive gifts and get discounts when buying flowers that exclusively served the show.

According to a press release from the organizers, Alkemade began his career in floral design working in various floral shops throughout the Netherlands.

After graduating with a master's degree from a top floral school in The Hague, Alkemade embarked on a two-year professional stint in both Australia and New Zealand before traveling to Asia.

In 1989, the Dutch florist launched his own floral design studio - Aurora Japan Incorporated, and has published books of art of flower arrangement and exhibited flowers florist all over the world. He has also coordinated flower exhibitions throughout Asia.

The floral performance is part of celebrations marking the 40th year of "blooming friendship" between Vietnam and the Netherlands this year.

The Grand Palace Convention Center is located at 142/18 Cong Hoa Street, Ward 4, Tan Binh District.
