Local pop star Thanh Lam will foray into classical music as she performs together with the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra on a tour of four cities from July 8-25.
Under the baton and arrangement of Japanese conductor Tetsuji Honna, the singer will perform songs about Hanoi, such as Nguoi Ha Noi (The Hanoians by Nguyen Dinh Thi) and Hoa sua (Milk flower by Hong Dang).
The Vietnam Symphony Orchestra will play excerpts by composers Franz Schubert, Georges Bizet, and three excerpts from the ballets Swan Lake and The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The program will take place at the Hanoi Opera House (July 7-8), the Hai Phong City Opera House (July 20), Da Nang City's Trung Vuong Theater (July 23) and the

The event is part of the Symphony Concert Program, one of Vietnam's largest annual music performances, in which well-known international artists work with local performers to present classical music masterpieces.
