This year's traditional concert for Advent and Christmas will be performed by the Ho Chi Minh City International Choir and Orchestra on Dec 2 and 3.
Titled "Welcome, Yule," the concerts will feature choruses from Handel's Messiah and Morten Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium as well as many favorite carols, including Coventry Carol and Un Flambeau Jeanette Isabele.
The two one-hour concerts will take place in District 1's St. Paul's Convent, whose chapel and surrounding cloisters were built by the French.
Recently renovated, the charms of the chapel include gorgeous vaulted ceilings, original French brickwork and colonial floor tiles.
The beautiful surroundings create a great setting for a night of glorious music that will evoke the holiday spirit, concert organizers said in a press release.
St. Paul's Convent is located at 4 Bis Nguyen Trung Ngan, District 1 - right on the corner of Nguyen Huu Canh and Ton Duc Thang Streets.
All proceeds from the concert will go to support Poussiers de Vie (Dust of Life) and the Loreto Vietnam-Australia Foundation.
