Wellington College, one of England's leading public schools, said it will bring a rare staging of Shakespeare's tale of love and betrayal, Othello, to Ho Chi Minh City next month.

A teenage cast will perform a fresh version of the 400-year-old tragedy at Renaissance International School on April 6 with the audience sitting on all sides, close to the action on stage.

"We are looking forward to bringing the genius of Shakespeare to Vietnam," said director Anthony Seldon. "His themes are intensely human, timeless and relevant in any culture. A performance of Othello in this style in the round has rarely, if ever, been performed in Ho Chi Minh City and it is an honor for us to represent our country's immortal bard."

Anthony Seldon, also the school's principal, is a political and historical author whose works include a biography of former Prime Minister Tony Blair and another of Prime Minister Gordon Brown to be published later this year.

The performance in Ho Chi Minh City is part of an Asian tour by the group, who are also visiting Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore. Further information and tickets can be received from Ms Hien Dang:
