To celebrate 1,000 years of Thang Long Hanoi, the British Council is organizing a Millennium Campaign packed with events to promote cultural links between the UK and Vietnam.
"Through this extravaganza of culture we hope to showcase the best of UK and Vietnamese creativity. These events will also showcase Hanoi as one of the most ancient capitals of Asia and also as a modern city that is dynamic and blessed with natural scenery and historical beauty nurtured by a splendid unique and enduring culture." said Robin Rickard, country director for the British Council.
Some highlights of the program include:
Long Bien "˜In a City' Exhibition: an exhibition that explores the fabric of society in the Long Bien area through innovative photography, film and story telling.
VisualizAsians: a collection of some of the best Vietnamese visual arts will be auctioned as part of an art gala at the Metropole Hanoi Hotel for a grant fund for young up and coming artists in Vietnam.
Millennium Fashion and Design Show: a night of sartorial elegance, showcasing the best of UK and Vietnamese student fashion and design concepts at a glitzy and glamorous catwalk event.
