Vietnam's first Forest Products Festival will take place in the city of Quy Nhon and other localities in the central province of Binh Dinh from March 26-28.
The event, themed Vietnam Forest Products Integration and sustainable development, will include an exhibition of wooden decorations and other products displayed in more than 600 booths by 150 domestic and foreign companies.
The festival will also include a workshop on forest product processing and sustainable forest management, a food fest, and a concert, as well as a seminar on Vietnamese music.
According to the organizer, the ministry of agriculture and rural development, there are more than 2,500 enterprises specializing in wood processing in Vietnam. The nation's wooden products are exported to 120 countries and territories with export turnover in 2010 reaching US$3.4 billion.
