Hanoi's Philharmonic Orchestra will play to celebrate Bastille Day with a concert at the Hanoi Opera House on July 13.
The orchestra, lead by French conductor Hacène Larbi, will play alongside Japanese mezzo-soprano Mari Kobayashi in an evening of classical French selections from composers like Hector Berlioz and Maurice Ravel.
As a composer, a conductor and music director of the GAIA Orchestra, Hacène Larbi has commanded the Orchestra for Peace Miguel Angel Estrella, the Bartok Festival Orchestra in Budapest, and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra to name a few.
Mari Kobayashi teaches at the National Conservatoire of Strasbourg. She has won several international awards such as the Award of Honor of the Maria Canals International Contest in Barcelona.
Tickets for the event, co-held by French Cultural Center L'Espace and the Vietnam National Academy of Music, are available at the Hanoi Opera House and L'Espace, 28 Trang Tien Street.
