Australian Quintet to perform in Vietnam

A concert featuring the Melbourne based Sunwrae String Quintet and local artists will be held on May 12 to welcome Quentin Bryce, Governor-General of Australia and her spouse to Vietnam.

The Governor-General of Australia, Quentin Bryce and her spouse will be on a State visit to Vietnam from May 5 -14. The visit of the governor-General is the response to the invitation by the State President Nguyen Minh Triet and his wife.

The Quintet is part of the Melbourne based nu-chamber group "Sunwrae Ensemble." Focusing on jazz, classic and world music, the Quintet will be performing along with Vietnamese meritorious artists like Dinh Linh, Tuyet Mai and Ha The Dung.

The members of the Quintet are Rae Howell, Rachael Kim, Zachary Johnson, Phoebe Green and Tim Blake.

The group, which was described as "animated and energetic"¦" by the Music Forum Magazine from Music Council of Australia, will start their performance at 7:30 p.m. at the HCMC's Opera House, on 7 Cong Truong Lam Son Street.
