Asian-American hip hop band coming to Vietnam

Asian-American hip hop band Far East Movement will perform September 22 at Fuse Bar Saigon, 138 Le Lai Street, Ho Chi Minh City.

Established in 2003, Far East Movement consists of Kev Nish (Kevin Nishimura), Prohgress (James Roh), J-Splif (Jae Choung), and DJ Virman (Virman Coquia).

The band made a name for itself with the song, "Round Round," which was featured in the 2006 Hollywood film, "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift."

Since then, the group has been featured on various television shows in the US including "CSI," "Entourage" and "Gossip Girl," as well as the 2007 feature film, "Finishing the Game."

Their single "Like a G6," which sold more than three million copies, hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and on iTunes in late October 2010, making them the first Asian-American group to reach number one on Billboard's Hot 100.
