A joint talk by artists Nguyen Thanh Truc and George Papadimas from Australia l take place today at Ho Chi Minh's Quynh Gallery, where both artists currently have an ongoing exhibition.
The two artists, whose Static Motion show is on view at the gallery until May 1, will discuss the relationship between their past and present work, highlighting the ideas behind their decision to exhibit together.
Nguyen Thanh Truc is a Vietnamese artist living and working in Ho Chi Minh City. He graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts University in 1993. Truc has exhibited both locally and abroad, and his paintings are held in private collections in Europe and in the Asia-Pacific region.
Born in Melbourne, George Papadimas is an Australian artist based in Ho Chi Minh City. He studied painting at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He has held numerous exhibitions and has participated as a finalist in several notable prizes in Australia.
Both English and Vietnamese will be used throughout the talk, which takes place at 5pm on 65 De Tham St., Dist. 1.
