A fortnight-long painting exhibition called "Friends of Tohoku" will be held in Ho Chi Minh City to raise money for Red Cross Japan.
The event, to be held in Galerie Quynh from April 15 to 29, will feature artwork in various media including paintings, drawings, installation, photos and videos by 17 local artists and several international artists from Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Finland, Austria, and the US.
According to the organizers, Vietnamese-American artist Tiffany Chung and Pamela Corey in collaboration with Galerie Quynh, the works will be available at prices ranging from US$300 to $10,000.
The proceeds from sales will go toward providing relief to the victims of the massive earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan last month.
In conjunction with the exhibition, there will also be original creations by fashion designers Chuong Dang (Vietnam) and Vietnamese-American Chuong Pham available for sale at the gallery, and all profits will also be donated to Red Cross Japan.
Galerie Quynh is located at 65 De Tham Street in District 1.
