Taking Paintings For a Walk, a series of two free lectures on art appreciation, will take place at Ho Chi Minh City's Chic Portrait Cafe August 11 and 13.
The event, co-organized by Chic Portrait Cafe and San Art, will feature talks by Zoe Butt, a young Chinese-Australian art curator and co-Director of San Art.
The first lecture, scheduled for 6.30 p.m. on Thursday Augst 11, will focus on painting and printmaking in contemporary Asia, focusing on how traditions are by nature in a state of constant change, with examples of artists from Pakistan, China, Japan and Thailand
Saturday night will discuss how painting can inspire three dimensions, with examinations of artists from Vietnam, India, China, Taiwan and Korea.
The event, to be held at Chic Portrait café, 15B, Phan Dang Luu Housing Estate, Binh Thanh District, is free of charge and open to all.
Lectures will be delivered in English and Vietnamese.
