Vietnamese students aged from 13 to 19 years old are invited to enter a writing and drawing contest titled "Canada and the world of Anne of Green Gables."
Organized by the Embassy of Canada, the Vietnam Canada Friendship Association and Nha Nam Culture and Communications Joint Stock Company, the contest celebrates the first publication in Vietnamese of the classic story "Anne of Green Gables."
The novel "Anne of Green Gables" was first published in 1908 and has since been translated into 30 languages and more than 50 millions copies have been sold worldwide

Vietnamese students can submit either an essay of up to 1,000 words or a drawing. The entries should be about Canada or the world of Anne of Green Gables.
Contestants should send their submissions to the Vietnam Canada Friendship Association at 105A Quan Thanh St., Hanoi before June 18, 2010.
The final results will be announced on Canada Day, July 1. Winners will receive cash prizes totaling VND25 million (US$1,300), special gifts from Canada, and books. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CanCham) will sponsor all prizes.
"Anne Shirley's adventures and challenges have entranced teenagers worldwide. Through this contest, I hope that Vietnamese teenagers will also be inspired," said Canadian Ambassador Deanna Horton.
