Amateur lens focus on Saigon's beauty

Members of VnPhoto, the local biggest online photography community, have introduced a photo book named Sai Gon dep lam (How beautiful Saigon is) and exhibited some selected works from May 20 to 28.

Through the lens of amateurs and professional photographers, Saigon's everyday life appears more lively in a striking way.

The book concludes 160 photos, selected from 1,000 submitted in May, featuring daily life and landscapes of Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City.

An exhibition of photos in the book, of the same name, will take place at Café Photo, 21 Dinh Tien Hoang, District 1, HCMC. 

After the exhibition, all exhibited works will be sold to help underprivileged students take the university entrance exam this year.

The book and the exhibition celebrates the 6th birthday of the online photo community, VnPhoto ( ). The website was established in 2003 as a network of photography fans and has attracted tens of thousands of members. Some of the photos in the book can be checked out at:
